Abundance ~

"The Way of Abundance is all too often misconstrued as a shallow sense
of 'getting what one wants,' 'eliminating the negative,' or 'being free from
pain.' Even the often-touted 'manifesting your dreams,' offers a
psychological disposition that generally remains fixated around
manifestation as 'the project of me.'

"But the 'project of me' can never be enough, for it does not meet 'the
other,' and real living involves meeting. The touch and contact with all of
life, the full freedom of non-separation, the completeness of full
relationship, and the radiance of compassionate ecstasy is what we are
inherently hungry for."

- Rick Jarow, *Alchemy of Abundance*

IMMERSION

Prayer becomes beautiful and sublime when it blossoms into deep
quietude
and mergence
with your very own Self.
This joining can be called “Immersion.”
In this Immersion, the fullness of one’s Truth is revealed.
The only Presence is Love sacred,
with no boundaries or judgments;
it is here that we join with all sentient beings in One Love

All is Eternally Well.

Konwledge + Heart ~

Reason is learned from the ever changing world, but true knowledge comes from the essence of life.

Knowledge and heart quality must be developed together. ... Without a developed love quality, man is incapable of having that knowledge. There are fine lights and shades in one's life that cannot be perceived and fully understood without having touched the deeper side of life, which is the devotional side. The person who has never in his life been wholly grateful cannot know what it is. He who has not experienced humility in life does not know its beauty. The one who has not known gentleness or modesty cannot appreciate its beauty or recognize it. ... The heart must be open too. A very intellectual man went to Jami and asked him to take him as his pupil and give him initiation. Jami looked at him and said, 'Have you ever loved anybody?' This man said, 'No, I have not loved.' Then Jami said, 'Go and love first, then come to me and I will show you the way.'

Windows of Opportunity - Full Moon worship

In every area of life, there are "windows of opportunity". These are moments when
it is "just right" to do or not do something. In romance, we sometimes wait for
just the right "moment" to ask someone to marry us. In business, markets have
turning points where investors can make a bundle. When counseling our children,
we look for the moment when they will be receptive to listening to our advice.
For politicians, if they find the right message for the right moment, then they
win an election. As the saying goes, we need to do the right thing at the right
time to be successful.

The Vedic rishis also described certain "windows" when it is best to do spiritual
practices. These are the Hindu holidays. As an example, repeating the mantra "Aum
Namah Sivaya" is always auspicious. But repeating this same mantra on Maha Siva
Ratri, a certain day that usually falls in February or March, is considered hundreds
or even thousands of times more beneficial. Most of these holidays are calculated
on the lunar calendar, according to the cycles of the Moon. Different branches of
Hinduism set out the best days to fast and perform other religious observances each
month or year.

This particular lunar month (Nov 10 - Dec 9) is the month of Kartika, which is especially
good for all spiritual practices. The Vana Parva of the Mahabharata describes the
full moon this month (which falls on November 23-24) as the "holiest night".

Not only are there special times for religious observances, there are also special
places for religious observances. You may have noticed walking into a great cathedral
or temple and feeling the silence and serenity that pervades there. This is because
great angels or devas have made the place of worship their home. It is said that
bathing in certain rivers, such as the Ganges, washes one's sins away. Many mountains
are said to be very holy, such as Mt. Kailash in Tibet, Mt. Shasta in U.S., and
Mt. Athos in Greece. Every community has holy places, known or unknown. If we
can perform the right spiritual activity at the right time in the right place, it
is very powerful.

So we have two things - windows of opportunity according to time; and windows of
opportunity according to place. Albert Einstein said that time and space are just
two sides of the same coin.

Our lifetime is one great window of opportunity for realizing God. If we don't
see and know God in this lifetime, then we have missed a great opportunity indeed!

It is not the solid wood that can become a flute, it is the empty reed.

There is a saying of Jalaluddin Rumi, 'Fire, water, air, and earth are God's servants, and whenever He wishes them to work for Him, they are ready to obey his command.' If the elements are the obedient servants of God, cannot man be a greater and better instrument?

In point of fact God Himself is the messenger. In the aspect of God He is God, but, in the form of the messenger, He is the messenger. The tide of the sea surges, and when the sea has that motion it is called tide, but in reality the tide is the sea itself.

It is not solid wood that can become a flute, but the empty reed. It is the perfection of that passiveness in the heart of the messenger which gives scope for the message from above; for the messenger is the reed, the instrument. The difference between his life and the life of the average man is that the latter is full of self. It is the blessed soul whose heart is empty of self, who is filled with the light of God.

This is RUMI's 800th birthday celebration, and a group of WHIRLING DERVISHES are travelling the world to offer the meditative zihkr dance in tribute of the source of all the mystic poetry. I saw them in Toronto. Worthwile to attend.

HAPPY JUPITER DIRECT ~

November 21, 2007 - December 9, 2008

On November 21, 2007 Jupiter enters its own sign, Sagittarius,
and will remain there for almost thirteen months. Each time it
moves into a new sign, it brings its expansive nature to a new
area of life. Jupiter, the planet of education, wisdom,
abundance, luck, wealth, and optimism will be particularly
important and beneficial because it rules Sagittarius. This
means whatever house is occupied by the sign of Sagittarius, in
your chart, will thrive during this transit. This, of course, is
a generalization because each horoscope is different. Never the
less, Jupiter's transit usually shows an area where positive
experiences are likely to happen.

One of the side effects of this Jupiter transit is Jupiter will
aspect Saturn during this entire transit. Saturn is currently
transiting Leo (see Saturn's transit of Leo to find out what
Saturn is affecting in your chart). The aspect of Jupiter on
Saturn will ease or improve the effects of Saturn and in some
cases in may radically improve your experience of the domain of
life that Saturn is affecting.

In any case, here are some of the areas of life that are likely
to improve for you during the transit of Jupiter in Sagittarius:

Vedic Sun Signs

Apr. 14 - May 14 (Aries) - This could be a good time for
increased prosperity. During the next year you may benefit from
spiritual pursuits, obtain good teachers, or further your
education.

May 15 - June 14 (Taurus) - During this time money from outside
sources such as partnerships, clients, insurance, and contracts
may increase or be beneficial. If married, the spouse's money
may increase. This is also a great transit for spiritual
development so meditation is recommended.

June 15 - July 15 (Gemini) - This is good for expanding and
healing relationships. Let go of old emotional baggage. If you
are not in a relationship, Mars could produce one. If you are
already in a relationship then it may improve.

July 16 - Aug. 16 (Cancer) - Jupiter's transit in the sixth house
promotes health, so this period may be good for starting or
expanding your exercise regime or improving your diet. If you
are seeking a job, this transit may improve your prospects.

Aug. 17 - Sept. 16 (Leo) - This is a good transit for children.
If you have been thinking about having one, this may be the
year. If not, be careful! This year may promote creativity,
play, and positive emotions. It may also be a good year for
romance and/or promoting creative endeavors.

Sept. 17 - Oct .16 (Virgo) - This transit may give you excellent
results with property. You may feel like expanding your home at
this time. This period usually brings a general sense of
emotional well being, good results for education and good
relations with your mother.

Oct. 17 - Nov. 15 (Libra) - This may be a good time for
communication of all types, but more so with siblings and
neighbors. Your brothers and sisters may also thrive during this
Jupiter transit. Short travels will be beneficial for you.

Nov. 16 - Dec. 15 (Scorpio) - Prosperity and abundance should
increase. Your health and recuperative ability will be generally
good with Jupiter transiting your second house. You may make a
significant and positive expenditure.

Dec. 16 - Jan .13 (Sagittarius) - Jupiter will be in its own sign
for the next thirteen months. Optimism, self image, career, and
relationships should be very positive for the next year. You may
have some big plans this year, but don't try to orchestrate or
control. Let your life unfold a day at a time.

Jan. 14 - Feb .12 (Capricorn) - Traveling to a foreign country or
going on a spiritual retreat would be very beneficial at this
time. Meditating and expanding the spiritual aspect of your life
during this transit may occur or could be beneficial. Give money
to charity. This is a good year to get bargains.

Feb. 13 - Mar. 12 (Aquarius) - This is a good time to
spiritualize and expand your goals. Financial gains may increase
and you can benefit from friends and contacts for the next year.

Mar. 14 - Apr. 13 (Pisces) - Career. "Follow your bliss" and move
toward what you really want to do. This transit should increase
your professional prospects and reputation.

FEMALE BRAIN

Louann Brizendine, M. D.

FOOD ~

The Bhagavata Purana says that all men in this world were women
in their previous births, and vice versa. Each died thinking
about the opposite sex. That is how the world is, so there is no
point in considering anyone higher or lower than the other.
Superiority has nothing to do with the sex of a person. It is not
the name, religion, or sect which makes anybody superior or
inferior, because the essence of everybody is the Supreme Soul,
which is to be remembered always, to regain our original nature
as swans soaring freely in the boundless realms. Actually god is
always there working with (and for) us, but remains unknown. For
example, we eat food, but it is god who digests it. Krishna says
clearly enough in the Bhagavad Gita: "I live in all living beings
as the fire of life digesting the food eaten by them." (15.14)

Wisdom is not in words, it is in understanding.

What a great thing is understanding! It is priceless. No man can give greater pleasure to his fellow man than by understanding him.

What can one wish for more in life than understanding? Understanding gives one harmony in the home with those near and dear to one and peace outside the home with so many different natures and characters. If one lacks understanding, one is poor in spite of all that one possesses of the goods of this world; it is understanding which gives a person riches. ... A life without such understanding is like a dark room which contains everything you wish it is all there, but there is no light.

~~~ "Gatheka 16, Sufi Mysticism
If there is no understanding between two persons, words are of no use. They may talk and talk, and discuss and discuss, and it will only go from bad to worse, for argument will never end. As it is said in the Vadan, 'Why? Is an animal with a thousand tails. At every bite you give it, it drops one of its curved tails and raises another.' Can argument bring about understanding? Never. Argument only increases argument, and so one can go on till two persons turn their back upon one another. Understanding is a gift of God, understanding is a soul's unfoldment, and understanding is the greatest fortune one can have in life.
Four Karmas ~
Why do care to where moon is during his transit through the constellations? Bear with me as I explain in a roundabout way, why the observation of phenomena within our solar system is important.
The second sloka in Pantanjali's Yoga Sutras is Yoga chitta vritti nirodaha. It says yoga is integration and quieting of excess movement within the mind. Specifically, chitta is the unfiltered reservoir of all our soul's experience.from lives before as well this one. Vrittis are the rising emotion as our chitta is disturbed. Nirodaha is the regulation and coordination taken as a result of chitta being stirred via vritti.
The soul carries chitta, the reservoir of all past action forward into each new body. We call this karma. Each act, intentional or not, generates karmashya, karmic residue in accord with either dharma or adharma. This residue has samskaras, repetitive traces that produce two results:
The first is vasana - memory as a form of residue. The second is klesa - affliction and suffering.
I think of memory as an after-burn, the ashes of the past once burned. A metaphor for this after effect is burning a well-seasoned log. It gives off great warmth and light with a minimum amount of smoke thereby reducing those afflictions associated with smoke. A damp, unprepared log will burn the eyes, cause choking and leave soot on everything not to mention the very low quality of light released.
How we interpret current experience will generate a memory. This memory serves us in the future as the ground of enlightenment freeing us or of bondage choking us. Our capacity to interpret is the fire. How well we interpret has to do with the strength and light of mind. Remember that the mind is the Moon in Jyotisha. How much light-fire the mind has is reflective of the phases of the moon. Obviously, having more light gives greater understanding thereby reducing affliction creating joy and happiness. This is why we want to tract the movement of the moon through his transits.In addition, in Ayurveda, a strong physical digestion is important. The physical capacity to metabolize food and eliminate the waste, is the same as the Mind digesting emotional-spiritual experience into beneficial memory free of attachment. Memory of the past and past lives will attach more firmly to our former blunders if we are not able to digest and properly understand our current experiences.
Karmic vocabulary:
Karmashya is karmic residue.
Samskaras are deep-seated conditioning and motivations.
Vasana is residual impressions and memory storage.
Klesa is affliction and suffering.
Jiva - Individual soul
Jati - Kind of life form received for incarnation.
Bhoga- Pleasure and pain
Vipaka - Maturating karmas, the ripening fruit.
Ahamkara - Individual ego
Sanchita- Sum of all past action known and unknown appearing within our casual body (individual soul).
Prarabdha - Karma ready to be experienced now, the ripened fruit.
Kriyamana- Karma in current production.
Agami- Karma produced through projection (envisioning/dreaming) of future action.
message from Satya Sai Baba ~
1. QUIT WORRYING:
Life has dealt you a blow and all you do is sit and worry.
Have you forgotten that I am here to take all your burdens and carry them for you?
Or do you just enjoy fretting over every little thing that comes your way?
2. PUT IT ON THE LIST:
Something needs done or taken care of. Put it on the list. No, not YOUR list. Put
it on MY
to-do-list. Let ME be the one to take care of the problem.
I can't help you until you turn it over to Me.
And although My to-do-list is long, I am after all...God. I can take care of anything
you put into My hands.
In fact, if the truth were ever really known, I take care of a lot of things for
you that you never even realize.
3. TRUST ME:
Once you've given your burdens to Me, quit trying to take them back. Trust in Me.
Have the faith that I will take care of all your needs, your problems and your trials.
Problems with the kids? Put them on My list.
Problem with finances? Put it on My list.
Problems with your emotional roller coaster? For My sake, put it on My list.
I want to help you. All you have to do is ask.
4. LEAVE IT ALONE:
Don't wake up one morning and say, "Well, I'm feeling much stronger now, I think
I can handle it from here."
Why do you think you are feeling stronger now?
It's simple. You gave Me your burdens and I'm taking care of them.
I also renew your strength and cover you in my peace.
Don't you know that if I give you these problems back, you will be right back where
you started?
Leave them with Me and forget about them. Just let Me do my job.
5. TALK TO ME:
I want you to forget a lot of things. Forget what was making you crazy.
Forget the worry and the fretting because you know I'm in control.
But there's one thing I pray you never forget. Please, don't forget to talk to Me
- OFTEN!
I love YOU! I want to hear your voice. I want you to include Me in on the things
going on
in your life. I want to hear you talk about your friends and family.
Prayer is simply you having a conversation with Me. I want to be your dearest friend.
6. HAVE FAITH:
I see a lot of things from up here that you can't see from where you are.
Have faith in Me that I know what I'm doing.
Trust Me; you wouldn't want the view from My eyes.
I will continue to care for you, watch over you, and meet your needs.
You only have to trust Me. Although I have a much bigger task than you, it seems
as if
you have so much trouble just doing your simple part. How hard can trust be?
7. SHARE:
You were taught to share when you were only two years old. When did you forget?
That rule still applies.
Share with those who are less fortunate than you.
Share your joy with those who need encouragement.
Share your laughter with those who haven't heard any in such a long time.
Share your tears with those who have forgotten how to cry.
Share your faith with those who have none.
8. BE PATIENT:
I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime you could have so many diverse experiences.
You grow from a child to an adult, have children, change jobs many times, learn
many trades, travel to so many places, meet thousands of people, and experience
so much.
How can you be so impatient then when it takes Me a little longer than you expect
to
handle something on My to-do-list?
Trust in My timing, for My timing is perfect. Just because I created the entire
universe in only six days, everyone thinks I should always rush, rush, rush.
9. BE KIND:
Be kind to others, for I love them just as much as I love you.
They may not dress like you, or talk like you, or live the same way you do, but
I still love you all. Please try to get along, for My sake.
I created each of you different in some way. It would be too boring if you were
all identical.
Please, know I love each of your differences.
10. LOVE YOURSELF:
As much as I love you, how can you not love yourself ?
You were created by me for one reason only -- to be loved, and to love in return.
I am a God of Love.
Love Me. Love your neighbors. But also love yourself.
It makes My heart ache when I see you so angry with yourself when things go wrong.
You are very precious to me. Don't ever forget......
"Gurur Brahma Gurur Vishnu
Gurur Devoh Maheshwar;
Gurur Shakshat Parambramha
Tashmai Shri Gurur Veh Namah"
May the Merciful Sri Sai Baba always shower His grace on us and our families and
remove our problems and anxieties by giving us all - strength, goodluck, success
and happiness with peace of mind.
facts vs myth ~
"Only a naive and unhistorical mind can think that facts are more powerful
than myths. All radical changes in human history are the results of the
spread of a myth that, in a totally convincing manner, answers a crucially
experienced need at a period of crisis."
BURMA ~ and what you can do!
Dear friends and relatives on Bhumi, Mother Earth,,
Take just a moment to read the call for help below.
Thank you from the heart.
==============================================
Hi, have you heard about the crisis in Burma?
Burma is ruled by one of the worst military dictatorships
in the world. Last month Buddhist monks and nuns began
marching and chanting prayers to call for democracy. The
protests spread and hundreds of thousands of Burmese
people joined in -- but they've been brutally attacked by
the military regime.
I just signed a petition calling on Burma's powerful ally
China and the UN security council to step in and pressure
Burma's rulers to stop the killing. The petition has
exploded to over 500,000 signatures in a few days and is
being advertised in newspapers around the world,
delivered to the UN Security Council, and broadcast to
the Burmese people by radio. We're trying to get to 1
million signatures this week, please sign below and tell
everyone!
Thank you so much for your help!
Blessings and standing up!
purification process ~
It is a patient pursuit to bring water from the depth of the ground; one has to deal with much mud in digging before one reaches the water of life.
Love is life, and life is symbolized by water. When one wants to bring water up out of the ground one has to dig for it, and the first thing which one finds is mud. And if one is disappointed by that, one has fooled oneself, for beneath the earth is water; it can be found but one must have patience to dig for it, to dig deep enough to find the water.
Quote of the Week~
