It's amazing how things can hover under the radar screen and then jump out at us with hardly any warning, and so it goes astrologically. The last days of 2009 were marked by a string of significant and harsh planetary configurations, an eclipse, a blue moon, news of war deaths, an "almost bombing" of a plane en route to Detroit, emotional upheavals and strange weather patterns, offering us growth-inducing and paradigm-challenging situations at end of year. And now the transition point is here.

2010, a # 3 vibration, the JUPITER year!

Don't be too surprised at the level of hustle and bustle experienced, possible turbulence in the elements and their repercussions, and maybe a little human exasperation felt now and then. All becoming an accelerated exercise in seeking adjustment and undiluted spiritual peace in every situation, because you may have to try really hard to retain it at various times. The ego acts up during times like these; and is the source of most pain and suffering in our lives anyway. This will need to change for us to get into the benific vibration Jupiter offers.

2010 is the year that astro numerologically is ruled by the number # 3 (2+0+1+0). Three is the number ruled by the planet Jupiter (called Guru in Sanskrit). Jupiter is considered a benefic in the vedic pantheon. With this benefic influence of Jupiter, our prayers and moral, spiritual conduct, powerful collective evolutionary forces can manifest in 2010.

The worship day for Jupiter is Thursday. The gem stone is the yellow Sapphire. The Sanskrit mantra is:

The Power of Jupiter:

Jupiter by nature, is the most wonderful and inflated planet giving to the human race their most bountiful qualities. As the largest planet in our solar system Jupiter rules over the principle of expansion. It is the most pious of planets, known as guru or teacher. Jupiter rules over history and antiquity. A strong Jupiter will be found in the horoscopes of wealthy and influential persons. Jupiter signifies good luck and good fortune and indicates long distance travel. We understand the good karma earned in the previous lives by the placement of Jupiter in our natal charts.

Jupiter is expansive, jolly, optimistic and often over promises and under delivers. He is the enemy of no -one and considered the "remover of darkness", the teacher of the Gods in the planetary pantheon.

Jupiter is also the ruler of religion and religious devotions and thus comes the name, Guru. He is the Prime minister of all other planets, the revered spiritual master of the Gods. Philosophy and spirituality are under the auspices of Jupiter, as are financial affairs and wealth. Jupiter is also the indicator of children in the chart and in a woman's horoscope, it is the indicator of what kind of a husband she will attain in the present life and what their relationship will be like. A strong Jupiter indicates one whose opinions are valued by many; therefore teachers fall in this category. Jupiter is positive, noble, dignified, always in the spirit of largesse, of good humor and the giver of the fruits of labor. Jupiter is the agent of happiness and satisfaction.

Jupiter is the ruler of the Zodiacal signs Sagittarius and Pisces, is exalted in Cancer and debilitated in Capricorn. Jupiter has friendly relationships with the Sun, Moon and Mars. Saturn, Rahu and Ketu are neutral to him; but Mercury and Venus are his enemies. Every planet has an enemy planet and this can be a positive thing to guide us in working out our dualistic notions and overcoming internal, vibrational conflicts. A lot of our ego struggles are about the "I" and Jupiter, now in Aquarius, is more concerned with collective ideas and structures, opposite the glory of the individual. It is about getting serious in our commitment to the global family, the great mandala of humanity. Jupiter is encouraging us to create in an arena of enduring ideas and values and overcome our personal petty attachments.

Those with a well-placed Jupiter in their chart are generally religious, philosophical and try to live a fairly pious life. They will engage in spiritual pursuits and inquire as to the true purpose of human life in this world. This is the greatest boon. To attempt to uncover the true "self" or to become "self-realized" is the ultimate goal of life. "As one sows, so shall he reap"; this is the immutable law of action and reaction.

A well-positioned Jupiter manifests in compassion, benevolence, charity, morality, wisdom and truthfulness. Anyone with great ambition is influenced by Jupiter, as are of course all self realized beings and spiritual teachers. He helps us to gain control over their external senses. Physically Jupiter rules the blood circulation in our arteries, the liver, hips, thighs and "fat" in the body.

When Jupiter is weak in the horoscope, subjects may suffer from lack of happiness and enthusiasm. They will be feeble-willed, have lack of faith both spiritually and in the good things and attributes of life. A weak Jupiter will cause pessimism and depression, anxiety and self-pity. An ill-aspected Jupiter makes for lack of compassion and congeniality for other people. It will also give rise to material, as well as financial difficulties.

Physically, there may be a weak immune system and generally poor vitality. The body weight may be too unstable and the liver and pancreas may not function properly. It can give rise to problems like arthritis , all liver disorders and metabolic imbalances.

So in this 2010, # 3 Jupiter cycle, we will see amongst the multitude of the usual mundane challenges, the main theme of global health issues and health care concerns. Because Jupiter rules sooo many aspects of our health. The spiritual and the physical. Financially, because Jupiter is so expansive, we will witness challenges in monetary inflation, big time. If not connected to the theme this cycle offers, we will also say YES to too many things, places, and people. We may over estimate and exaggerate. Becoming too busy on the external plane will lead to internal distress and missing the opportunity to finally spiritualize our reality, workplace, home, communications and way of being. To sit in circle, to meditate! Grow gardens together, help each other with our daily needs and become more tribal. Have communal dinners, offer one another our genuine talents, exchange. Care, dare in a positive life sustaining way. Jupiter will make it obvious where we need to be more dedicated and impeccable in our commitments. Innovation and co-operation are illuminated by Jupiter offering each other the physical, emotional and spiritual nourishment necessary to fulfill our collective ( not just our individual) destiny. Jupiter encourages growth thru compassion, forgiveness and reconciliation.

Because the year 2010, # 3 Jupiter year is comprised of the emotional Moon ( #2 ) the two zeros of spiritual transformation ( if you so choose ) and the Sun ( #1 ) wanting to be boss of the show called life. Adding all this together, a number # 3 cycle arises yet not just buoyantly so. The cosmic void of the two zeros in the planetary vibration are a dire invitation to become the best human you can be, NOW, not later. And this involves every single aspect of our reality. The invitation will be to examine our EXCESS!

How we love, think, behave, communicate, work, shop, cook, drive, waste, and how frivolous and self righteous we have become in our assumption that the universe owes us a living. The excess will show up everywhere, every nano second of our every day if we care to step into the circle of Truth. Jupiter, the # 3 vibration is a pyramid, comprised of the Moon, Sun, and Jupiter at the apex, containing the cosmic Truth within. So whoever is not reflective, meditative, almost vegetarian, ride sharing, recycling, community building, slimming in consumption from personal to collective uses, will have a very unhealthy year. Unhappy and dissatisfied.

There will of course be those that pretend, who will call themselves masters without mastery, teachers without wisdom, and those who just don't walk the talk. And talk they will, many will talk a good talk - and unless you embrace the wholism offered by Jupiter in Aquarius for almost the first half of the year 2010, you will remain selfishly absorbed in your own goals, woes, gains and losses, imposing your personal drama on a collective that is ready to shift if YOU are ready to "be the change you want to see in the world." We all have a chance to learn about maturity and responsibility and true spirituality by letting our doing become our being. We need to appreciate the maturity necessary in our collective evolution and understand that Jupiter is a powerful agent pointing to a needed commitment to enduring principles that give us the philosophical prowess to focus on the dignity of the way life unfolds and the wealth that Jupiter represents in the Kala Purusha, our souls journey, aiding our liberation.

We cannot just cling to this naive notion that in 2012 all our troubles will blow over and we will have suddenly become this perfect human race; just look around you - not likely now is it? In this next phase we all have a chance to evolve from children of God to adults of God, from victims and villains to conscious co creators.

Overall this may be a good plan to deal with the expansive and challenging circumstances ahead:

Stay calm. Don't shame or blame anyone or anything, understand and realize that you are fully accountable for everything that goes awry in your life. We will come face to face with karmic forces we set in motion in the past. Strive to see exactly how our little, petty, and conniving ego is desperately trying to vindicate itself in every uncomfortable situation. Effort to let it all go, no matter what it is. Let spiritual peace and equilibrium assert itself, which is available to all of us if that is our choice. Understand the action of, and give permission for Jupiterian spiritual forces to enter in and resolve the situation; trust that they will do their job magnificently. Pray for help. Strive to discern what your highest intuition directs you to do in this situation. Do it and don't look back. Forgive, expand, move on, do not contract.

How many things there are in life that we should be grateful for, but in our troubles and in the miseries around us the things for which we should be grateful are forgotten, and instead of thankfulness we develop an ungrateful nature. The more complaining a person, the less gratitude he shows in his nature, and the more his gratitude develops, the more he will begin to understand. Our little troubles overwhelm and disorder our life, and by our absorption we are robbed of the knowledge of God's perfection and greatness.
